Environment & Concept Art

1. Creating the Space

Creating a space where something is about to happen must begin with an environment that invites the viewer to become immersed in that world. Searching for an idea often brings uncertainty; searching for the right idea even more so.

2. Starting with Thumbnails

I came to the conclusion that, in order to begin something, I first needed to build a basic idea through small thumbnail sketches. So I set myself the goal of taking a sketchbook and creating at least 10 to 20 quick sketches based on a specific theme.

3. Using References

Start by collecting a few reference images. Then choose a composition that will guide your sketch.

4. Theme

“The first step to start a scene is to make a very small sketch.”
